Uniting Men Through Conversations That Matter
On 24 June 2026, UnsilencedMen (NPO) had the privilege of participating in the Men's Meet Up, hosted by Clinix Dr SK Matseke Memorial Hospital in commemoration of Men's Mental Health Awareness Month.
Held at the Nembula House Boardroom, the event brought together men from different backgrounds for a morning of open dialogue, learning, and empowerment. The initiative created a safe and welcoming environment where important conversations about men's wellbeing could take place—encouraging attendees to reflect, engage, and support one another.
A Platform for Honest Conversations
The Men's Meet Up focused on topics that impact many men throughout different stages of life. The programme encouraged participants to think beyond traditional expectations of masculinity and embrace a more holistic approach to personal wellbeing.
Key discussion topics included:
Men's Health
Marriage & Relationships
Money Matters
Legal Advisory
Each session provided practical insights while encouraging men to ask questions, share experiences, and gain knowledge that could positively influence their personal and professional lives.
UnsilencedMen's Contribution
As an organisation committed to promoting men's mental health and creating safe spaces for meaningful dialogue, UnsilencedMen was honoured to contribute to this important initiative.
Our participation reinforced a message that lies at the heart of our mission:
Strong men are not those who suffer in silence—they are those who have the courage to seek support, build healthy relationships, and invest in their wellbeing.
The discussions highlighted how mental health is closely connected to physical health, financial wellbeing, relationships, and the ability to navigate life's everyday pressures.
Breaking the Silence Together
One of the most encouraging aspects of the event was witnessing men actively engaging in conversations, asking questions, and supporting one another. Events such as these remind us that when safe spaces are created, men are willing to speak, learn, and grow together.
By addressing topics that are often overlooked or avoided, the Men's Meet Up helped normalize conversations around vulnerability, responsibility, and resilience.
Appreciation
UnsilencedMen extends its sincere gratitude to Clinix Dr SK Matseke Memorial
Hospital for the invitation and for organising an impactful event in recognition of Men's Mental Health Awareness Month.
We also thank every facilitator, healthcare professional, legal advisor, speaker, and attendee who contributed to making the day meaningful. Your willingness to invest in the wellbeing of men is helping create healthier families, stronger workplaces, and more connected communities.
Together, we continue to remind men that seeking help is not a sign of weakness—it is a sign of courage.
