On 22 May 2026, UnsilencedMen (NPO) proudly collaborated with SANCA Soshanguve for an impactful youth empowerment initiative focused on engaging both the boy child and girl child through meaningful conversation and guidance.

Hosted at Rhulani Secondary School in Soshanguve, the programme created a platform where learners could openly engage on issues affecting young people and the importance of making responsible life decisions from an early age.

UnsilencedMen’s primary focus for the day was the “Talking to a Boy Child” session, centred around the main theme: “Choices.” The discussion explored how everyday decisions can shape a young person’s future, identity, relationships, and opportunities.

The programme was led by Garry Nkosi, representative of SANCA Soshanguve, whose leadership and coordination helped create a meaningful and engaging experience for the learners.

As part of the session, learners had the opportunity to hear from Dumisani Nyundu, a former South African police officer turned author, actor, and media personality. Through his personal journey — from law enforcement to incarceration and rebuilding his life — he delivered a powerful message about accountability, growth, consequences, and the importance of making wise choices.

His story deeply resonated with the learners, offering a real and relatable perspective on how one decision can change the direction of a person’s life, but also how transformation and redemption remain possible.

To make the engagement interactive and memorable, UnsilencedMen also hosted a giveaway session where learners received:

  • Branded wristbands

  • Motivational posters

The enthusiasm and participation from the learners highlighted the importance of creating safe spaces where young boys can be guided, heard, and empowered to make positive decisions for their future.

UnsilencedMen extends sincere gratitude to SANCA Soshanguve, Rhulani Secondary School, the speakers, educators, and learners who contributed to the success of the initiative.

Together, we continue to invest in young people through dialogue, mentorship, and awareness — helping shape stronger, healthier, and more purposeful futures.

Speak. Heal. Rise.
